NCRR inks new rail agreements

The North Carolina Railroad Company, the Charlotte Area Transit System and Norfolk Southern Corp. have signed lease, construction, and operating agreements for the LYNX Blue Line Extension light rail project along the North Carolina Railroad corridor. The 2.7-mile span begins near East 12th Street and ends a half mile east of Eastway Drive. NCRR, which owns and manages a 317-mile rail corridor extending across 16 counties, is based in Raleigh.

The impending addition of two more teams to the Atlantic Coast Conference will require changes in the format of the conference basketball tournaments.
